Great day yesterday. I'm embarrassed to say how much I spent but I went to Fanboy [comic convention] in Knoxville. Parking and the ticket alone were enough to blow my budget. I scored some neat Silver Age comics but the highlight was meeting and getting a fist bump from William Shatner and sitting next to Nichelle Nichols and having my picture taken with her. Both signed pics for me. Nichols signed one of her and Kirk getting ready to kiss the first interracial smooch on tv and Shatner signed a pic from his Twilight Zone appearance in "The Gremlin on the Wing" He signed it "There's something on the wing" for me. Really cool friendly dude. Nichols was super gracious and friendly. What a treat to meet them. I've never been a celebrity hound but yesterday was a once in a lifetime chance for me. Other celebs there were Barbara Eden, Lea Thompson, Catherine Bach, Dawn Wells, Tom Wopat, Dean Caine, Verne Troyer, Ric Flair, Kevin Nash and a slew of others I can't recall right now. AWESOME FUCKING DAY.
