I don't think there's any reason to believe gramps is rich so much as that he has a piggy bank with other people's money. That piggy bank may be getting a little empty.

This is why the whole thing seems suspicious. Normally when you run through millions of dollars and have nothing to show it but a future of losses and "going concern" warnings the owners of that money makes changes, especially with things looking as dubious as they do.

Becoming naturalized by marriage is much harder than it used to be. I don't know if she got deported, I never heard about it again. But I'd guess if she's still making movies, it was probably just idle gossip.
