It cut years off of his professional life, and I don't remember him whining like a bitch. Now we have assholes like Michael Vick who go to the big house because they like to torture dogs.
There are those who say he only did that on the orders of the Nation of Islam. When they failed to take care of him after he lost his belt Joe Frazier lent him money, only to be repaid years later with insults like 'gorilla' and Uncle Tom. He also abandoned his friend Malcolm X when told to by the Nation and said nothing after the Nation assasinated him.
And as Tatty's video shows he promoted ideas after joining the Nation that are never acknowledged today because everyone treats him like a saint.
Still, a great boxer, that's what counts.
