To answer the Canadian social safety net questions:

1. Dana is allowed to come back to Canada anytime she wants. She was born here.

2. She'd have to wait 3 months for Government paid health coverage (at least in the Province of Ontario where Toronto is located).

3. Once 65, she'd get Old Age pension of about C$770 per month. Everyone gets it who meets the age requirement.

4. She wouldn't be getting the Canada Pension Plan (American Social Security) because presumably she never paid into it.

5. Welfare for a single person nets them C$600 a month. There are thousand of people on the waiting list for social housing.
