I replaced my old mattress when I was in Greece with a new one. The old one ripped open while we were removing it and sand poured out of it. Lots of different bright colors of chalky sand. No idea what that was about. Prolly some toxic shit to keep bed bugs away. And the new mattress really wasn't even that much more comfortable. They apparently have never heard of box-springs over there. Just a mattress on planks of wood on a bed frame.
