^You're half right (as much as it pains me to say it) BUT, consider this:

Right now, I can also order, via social media, food and/or booze. I think we'll both agree that this is a wonderful innovation. The thing is, both the food and booze establishments are regulated by the state for some serious public interest reasons. The Uber folks? Not at all.

Regulate the Uber Drivers, make 'em pay at least some sort of fee (as medallion owners do) and then I'd agree with you.
