Motorola Moto E smartphone for $129 from BestBuy. I dropped my iPhone 5s in the sink and it's completely dead. Don't bother telling me to put it in a bag of rice, either. That isn't fixing this thing. The screen was cracked prior to it falling in the sink and now it goes right to the red screen of death when I power it on. It keeps cycling on and off like that. This Motorola is just a standby until the new iPhone comes out, but it's a pretty nice phone for the price. It definitely doesn't feel cheap considering it's half the price of what it would cost to fix my 5s.

That looks like a solid phone. Did you consider the Moto G too? The E is $130 and the new 4G/LTE G is $220.

Cracked my iPhone 5s screen -- had it repaired at the Apple Store for $150. If I'd sent it in for repairs it would have been $280 - $300. Fuckers...

It is a solid package for the price. When I destroyed my 5s, I pulled the nano-sim out and the only phone I could get to work with that size sim was a decade+ old Motorola KRAZR. I had to wedge a little piece of rubber on top of the sim to get it to stay in place so the phone would even work at all. Apparently downgrading to an older phone like this somehow voided my unlimited data plan, so now I have to wait a week for AT&T to sort that out and fix it.

As far as the Moto E vs. the Moto G, I just wanted the cheapest smartphone that was fully functional. I'm just surprised by how much I actually like this phone. Is Motorola still a company you can invest in?

Car got rear ended and the insurance company totaled it, rather than pay for bumper, bumper cover, and paint. Dude is charging me the difference between what the insurance company would give him if they took the vehicle and if he keeps it.

It will have a Salvage title, but I plan to run it into the ground, so that won't matter. Waiting for him to get the paperwork in the mail, then start the process of getting an Operable Salvage title.

Hopefully in a year or 2 I'll have paid off enough debt to get something better for a daily driver and just use this for work.

There are no Best Buy stores near you? It should be just as cheap to get one there. I'm about to get a 64gig SD card for my Moto E soon. They state that 32gig is the max size it can use, but I've heard 64gig cards work just fine.

I'm quite pleased with my Moto E so far. It doesn't feel cheap at all and at $129, I won't feel bad when my drunk ass eventually drops it. I can't see how they can make any profit on the phone at that price.
