He wasn't Dusty Rhodes or Christopher Lee (both excellent folks) but his approach to jazz back in the late 50s did not endear he to many white people who thought the blacks should play their jazz the way white people liked it.
fuck, it's atonal and sounds scattered, it will never get you pussy, but when i'm many hours into a session of solving some esoteric problem surrounding the banality of reality, it takes all the pieces of my brain, and all those voices in there and separates them and sends them down rabbit holes of their own choosing.
