It is probably just a clearance joint. I got a pair of Timberland hiking boots via some Amazon clearance joint for like $35, when the cheapest ya ever see em on sale is $79.99.

They might have a scuff on em or something, but probably nothing worse than you'll put on em the first week ya have em.
