I bought a couple of high-capacity Lithium-Polymer batteries for a drone I purchased recently. These types of batteries aren't supposed to be shipped via air freight because of the risk of fire, so I selected UPS Ground shipping.
So... the batteries left the store located near Seattle and spent almost a week in transit being shipped by truck to Sacramento, California and then were put on a plane anyway and shipped to Alaska for delivery.
I guess UPS doesn't actually send trucks all the way to Alaska or something, so this is their roundabout way of making sure my delivery took forever to get here, instead of just putting it on a plane from Seattle to Anchorage the next day.
