Actually I saw some of the later shows with Clarence and it was a little sad. They had basically put a throne onstage for him to sit in and bang on his tambourine while waiting in between sax solos. He'd stand up, do his solo to great applause and then sit back down again. I saw a video of him falling over after a solo and Bruce did a sideways somersault right after him to make it look like the whole thing was planned out. Touching, but sad.

They have his nephew Jake Clemons taking his part now and he's actually quite good. But you're right, the original band is gone forever after the deaths of Clarence and also Danny Federici. Overall though, the rest of the band still sounds great and they're performing at a level comparable to their prime.

Anyway, what do you hunt around there?

Deer is big along with rabbit and squirrel. Game birds too. Grouse is wonderful to eat but about hunted out. Wild Turkey some quail. There are some elk but its a lottery to hunt. Coyote have a bounty. There are bears as well but thats a rare special hunting season and doesn't happen around here much. I'm not much of a hunter. Never liked killing things. I go to the range and have fun.

I've been hearing a lot about squirrel hunting in the last few years. It used to be all about the deer around here and I never heard anything about hunting squirrels.

My dad was a damned good hunter. He was small and wiry and could hike forever up and down ridges and hills. I went with him often as a kid. Almost every weekend we had rabbit, squirrel, grouse or fried frog legs for breakfast. Fried squirrel especially makes for really really good gravy for biscuits. It's delicious. Grouse is out of this world delicious. You have to be very patient to be a good squirrel hunter and know where the acorns are. My dad was a big fisherman as well. Ate lake and river fish a lot growing up. He grew up dirt poor so he learned these skill at a very early age.

The biggest problem in the country gun wise is fully illustrated in the article. Lack of enforcement of gun laws on the books and judges being complete fucking dumbasses. How many times have you seen a multiple time felon out committing murder? It's never ending. The other part of the equation is our national disgrace of a mental health strategy. Not enough beds, still a stigma and a severe lack of concern or understanding by authorities including politicians.

Water at my house is fine for cooking and showering, but it aint the best for drinking. I hemmed and hawed about it for a while, considered getting a more expensive one w/ a k-cup coffee maker in it, then said fuck it. My fave will be not having to wait on boiling water for cup of soup or hot chocolate.

K-cups should be outlawed. Fucking garbage intensive product.

The coffee maker I have is one of the ones that keeps the coffee in a trough on top and you can set it to keep it warm for 1-4hrs. Love that thing in the winter.

I have a keurig and think it makes weak shit coffee. Most times I'm making coffee on the stove top in a percolator.
