Here is some more anecdotal feedback for you- DC is growing in transient and affluent population by leaps and bounds. It may not count as government jobs but it is to contractors and military and service force/agency transients. It is creeping through Northern VA and up into Maryland. They are all sucking the gubmint tit.

If you've been to DC lately or even as far as Fredericksburg you would know this was true.
