Sure, I can afford it. I am waiting, even though it is difficult, for the rumored 12" Retina MacBook Air. Right now I have four recent MacBook Airs to clean up and sell. Two 11", two 13". Generally I buy one every year, but Intel's chip release schedule has me using my 2013 MBA a little longer than I would like. The 2011 13" model is getting the new battery in preparation to be moved along to new ownership; the Admiral is not the kind of guy to sell on a computer with a bum battery, and leave the next guy with a problem. Not over sixty-five bucks and 10 minutes with a screwdriver.

It's very hard to resist buying a 13" Retina MacBook Pro, though, I tell you what. I just don't like how the front edge of that sucker feels like a knife edge, and the half-pound weight difference with the MBA, and the glass over the screen.

These are definitely First World Problems.
