This War Machine didn't have any goddamn engagement ring with him — this is a detail the meathead is making up now to make himself seem sympathetic — and his late declarations of ring-bearing now (and believe me, they will ask for, look for, and find the absence of a receipt) go toward discrediting him as a witness in his own defense.
