I'm fine with opiates and booze. I love them, in fact. But I have a standing request with my family that however I die, I don't want diabetes to be mentioned in my obituary. I hate that, "He died after a long struggle with diabetes," bullshit. You take your insulin/meds, you check your bloodsugar and you deal with it.
