It was a couple weeks after 9-11 and a week or 2 before he was filming an HBO special. He had to gut his planned act because it was to be about train wrecks and airplane crashes. I felt bad for him while he was fumbling around on stage.

I saw him at the Comedy Store working out that material in the summer time before 9/11. It was for the HBO special that was going to happen at the end of September. It was about his favorite thing on TV was 'We interrupt this program...' He did like ten minutes on why he liked hearing about tragedy, accidents and crashes. When I saw the special, obviously that bit had to go.
