As a father with a son...and I think I can speak for all of those here...I'd do whatever the fuck to get my kid home. If that meant posting some of the shit the dad has posted...yeah...I'd be OK with it. I can excuse everything the dad has done.

The dude deserted. And probably intended to switch sides. Maybe, maybe not. I don't think it played out the way it should have for him. In my mind, he payed. Maybe bust him in rank, dishonorable him, take half his pay. Or not. I'm good either way.

If I had a magic wand, the kid would go home and life his life. I hate to steal from The Dark Knight, but here goes. The "truth" isn't what we need, but it's what we deserve. The story, the legend, the clean version...is the "truth' we need. Let Obama spike the ball in the end zone, let it draw attention from the VA thing and the Benghazi hearings. Whatever. Let the kid and his family have peace. Let Americans have a nice moment. I don't think it'll happen.

Of course, the target on Americans abroad just got much bigger. But we'll cross that bridge when we get there.

If I had the wand I'd also like to see the 5 motherfuckers we traded for this kid have accidents in Qatari tranny bars. It would be poetic.
