I don't think it's a matter of adults. Clinton and his group were children, and I long for those days. this group is something else. Not stupid, exactly, because Obama's the smartest man in the room. I see a pattern of not understanding what they have to power to do and not do. It's almost as if they actually buy into the nonsense celebrity idea that if you're conspicuous enough in your caring that you can somehow change the world. I remember seeing an interview with Grace Slick where she talked about believing that if you listened to the right music and read the right books that you'd change the world, and how shocked she was that it didn't happen.

It's Feel Good diplomacy. You do literally as little as you can because a sheet of paper, a Sharpie and some rudimentary writing skills are pretty easy to come across. But you feel better. And that's what really matters when you're a vapid attention whore.
