I'm doing preliminary research about Dominican Republic and from what I've gathered, theres lots of scams, fraud, swindles and dishonesty towards the foreigners.
Alex, you know all those Dominican shopkeepers you've abused and swindled over the years here in NYC? They've all got family there waiting for them to retire and each and every one's got a long memory.
