W/o Jeter and A-Roid last year, the Yankee ratings were down. Soon as A-Roid got back on the field, ratings popped back up.

It is going to take a while for fans to acclimate to McCann, and its a crapshoot if Ellsbury stays on the field. No one really cares too much about Tex. With scrappy Gardener as the only homegrown position player, the cache of the team definitely takes a hit.

If the Mets young pitching is for real, and they get a big player or 2 before next season, they can take a large chunk of the fair weather fans in NYC, like they did in the mid-late 80s. During those days, George owned the back pages but the Mets owned the win column and fans.

Last time Yankees made the playoffs, you could get tickets on game day, via StubHub, for $50. That is a tell.
