Just the opposite here. Shops began popping up here about ten or so years ago. Began seeing bumper stickers and t-shirts around that time, and thought it a bit odd. Get in where ya fit in, I guess.

I've got at least 5 shops within a few miles. They're like the new tattoo parlor, in a way. Their promotion styles are similar, but they're lousy with hipsters mostly.

Anyhow, I've been using double edge safety razors for a couple years now, after having gotten tired of the expense of other types. Takes a little getting used to, but I haven't even put a dent in my first box of razors.

Barber shop or barber salon?? To me there is a difference. Barber shop means utilitarian and no hairwash stations. Usually smell like barbicide and talc.Straight guys mostly over 30 are the barbers. They look like they learned to be a barber in the military or in prison.

Barber salon is a hairdressing establishment with a masculine facade but the "barbers" are women, faggots and/or hipsters. They try to look retro and the closest they achieve to masculine is metrosexual.
