How did Lost try to explain its shit to its audience in the end; is it the "time's-compressing-when-people-die-and-it's-all-a-vision" thing I noticed somewhere?
I think Lost's explanation was that the island and the adventures therein were some form of purgatory and trials for the deceased (they all died in that plane crash, but for some reason didn't know it) before their souls could be released. Or some shit like that. It was a colossal MacGuffin and made that finale a real mess.
