If you are about to build a house I recommend getting builder references and really following up. A good homebuilder will follow up a year after completion to caulk and paint trim that has shrunk and take care of other normal issues like nail/screw pops in drywall that arise after a house season cycles. Ask their customers if they did that for them.

As to the burl wood, what do you want to use it for? Paneling? A mantel? Veneer? Google finds several sources.
