Porn being consumed casually doesn't make it publicly accepted, not mainstream either.

Porn has a long way to go towards public acceptance. That said, just go through the NY Times archives for the last year or two and look at all the value neutral articles about porn and porn stars. It is more accepted than hard drugs at this point. And legal, which they are not...
