Very telling.
Yea. If you're smart and tough, you can manage your work to minimize the risk. But a lot of people are afraid of the subject and don't want to think about it, which means they're not doing even the minimum to protect themselves. With luck, one or two performers will read it, think about it, and become a little more careful.
My basic point was that all tests are flawed. LA has a testing program that helps overcome part of the problem. If you use an HIV test in another part of the world that doesn't have a similar testing program, you're not getting the same protection.
I don't know this, but I'm assuming that the reason for doing 50 man gangbangs (or 1,000 man gangbangs, in Sparks case) is financial. I don't know what the going rates are, but I suspect that hiring 50 guys in Eastern Europe instead of the US saves thousands of dollars. I also assume that is the reason for using fans; they work for free. Unfortunately, this means that you're drawing your male performers from a population that isn't tested regularly. Even if you test them, one shot testing isn't as effective as using people who are part of a regular testing program.
