I heard that rumor recently elsewhere and I don't buy it. First, Joaquin was an 18 year old shit head. I don't know why anyone else there would listen to him. Second, I'm sure others present were desperately trying to cover their asses also. Third and finally, stupid junkie ODd, nobody's fault but his own.

I think Joaquin made Johnny Cash seem stilted and dour. I know he had his problems, but I am sure JC had some levity in his life.

Joaquin's acting seems to have only one speed: fully intense, which makes him completely uninteresting to me. I imagine he is an over-to-top method actor who has to live his characters around the clock as opposed to a real talent like Bryan Cranston, who can turn Walter White on and off like a light switch.

I have no sympathy for junkies either, the current one being Cory Monteith, fuck that dude as they fucked over Jack Klugman and Larry Hagman at the Emmies on the death tributes. Klugman and Hagman had much better careers than being on a marginal show about glee clubs.

I hear ya on the method actor douches. I think that is more a form of mental illness than acting.

As an escapist myself, I can't say that I necessarily sympathize with junkies, but I can sort of see where they're coming from. Some people don't have that supportive family and friends network that have been there to dig us out of the shit when we couldn't muster the strength and willpower ourselves. This obviously doesn't apply to all of them, but there are people out there that struggle with depression and the day to day grind and turn to dangerous substances as their escape. I firmly beleive that people need people for the most part. This is why rehabilitation operates in the fashion that it does. It gives you other people to lean on and relate with. I can tell you for a fact that I would not be here today if it wasn't for friends and family.

Personally, I'm here in spite of friends and family and I plan to keep being here to spite the fucking bejesus out of 'em.
