Personality alone can get you laid just like buying a lottery ticket can win you the lottery. Only not quite as often.

We're all pretty much the same--men and women. There's no great mystery about the opposite sex no matter which side of the great divide you're sitting on while wondering about those on the other side.

I am pretty unlikely to have sex with a nice woman I am not physically attracted to and I think it is pretty unlikely that a woman is going to have sex with me if she's not attracted to me simply because I'm nice to her.

The thing that makes life so confusing is the variability in what people find physically attractive. There is no gold standard. Just look at any one of the posts on this site where people put up pictures of supposedly "attractive" women. Those threads are full of horrible mutants some guy is lusting after. It is the variability in what individual people find physically attractive that allows the occasional ugly dude without money to date a supermodel, not tricks or a sense of humor, or a nice personality.

Somewhere on here I wrote a story about how I wound up making out with a chick that was way out of my league while Paul Simon's "I know what I know" was playing in the background. That's all you need to know.

If you can't find a woman who finds you attractive, find one who thinks you're all right... all right in a sort of limited way for an off night. And don't be a douche, and do be a nice guy, and you'll stand a chance.
