Gannon also brought a tackle box full of food in one episode with Friday making snarky comments about it. He is either eating weird shit or has some ailment he is trying to scotch.

Great cgi. The story was a little lacking, but the senseless violence made up for it.

I didn't understand the scene in the South Korean "dust room" where the 7 people handcuffed the zombi. Especially the part where there was moving hand under the dust.

Another strange one. 4 men meet and cook and eat themselves to death on a weekend while dallying with local prostitutes and a perverted female school teacher. Marcello Mastroianni of all people stars.

I was reading in Vanity Fair that a lot of the film ended up on the cutting room floor making the story sort of disjointed. I thought it was weird there was no payoff for the moving hand, too. But like the Pine Barrens ep of the Sopranos, life doesn't always have a payoff.

I'd forgotten a lot of the more savage moments. I haven't seen last week's yet but I'm all jacked for the finale. I keep thinking Marie is going to be the big spoiler.

I was watching that last night. I love the scene where Kuby and Huell hold Ted Beneke hostage until his check to the IRS clears. Except it goes sideways; love the Godfather oranges Vince Gilligan.

I am sure nobody has ever been held hostage (in fiction or real life) to force them to pay the IRS (except maybe by the IRS).

The genius of scenes like that make Breaking Bad the best series ever. I just read that AMC is getting $300K - $400K per 30 second spot for the series finale and the inventory is completely sold out. This be becoming 'who shot JR'.

The Ted Beneke saga is just perfection. And I'd be full of shit if I said there weren't some mixed emotions for tomorrow night. I'm going to do my best to hold it together but if things go sideways I might need some xpt hate therapy to straighten shit out. Just putting that out there.

I'm bummed to see it go, but the story has been told. Just watching the prison hit scene. Straight out of Godfather, but with an upbeat Pat Boonish soundtrack. Beautiful.

Just started season 4 on Netflix.
Watched World War Z on disc the other night. A bit of a let down. Not fully realized and I don't like zombies portrayed as jack rabbits. Kind of goes against the living dead grain.

I am too. The whole show was an interesting treatment of the male mid life crisis, for lack of a better term. I stayed in WW's camp longer than most. Not wanting to get caught can drive us to extremes and as things started to snowball it seemed that he was less evil than just being a man whose circumstances went beyond his control. My light switch moment was when he told Skyler that he was the one everyone should be afraid of. Even with that realization, I guess I was still hoping for his redemption. It hit close to me because I keep hoping for my own.

At the end of the day, he left his family as safe as he could have. Redemption...sort of.

El Paso is on my player now too. The story in the song really foreshadowed where the ep was going to go. The question left, at least for me, is his Felina Skyler/ family or the crystal? Felina's eyes were evil and wicked while weaving her spell.

According to Vince Gilligan, Felina is the Crystal Blue. He was most comfortable with the chemistry and the lab was his favorite place.

I am completely amazed at Vince Gilligan's candor about how they made the show, most showbiz types want you to think they are the almighty wizard behind the curtain. If you go to the AMC website there are one to one-and-half hour podcasts on the process and thoughts on every episode starting with the second season. I think Vince Gilligan is in every one explaining every thing you would want to know.

In the last one he talked about a dark idea that didn't come to fruition as they didn't kill Jesse as originally planned. Walt was going to kidnap the bad guy that killed Jesse and very painfully dismember him a little every day but setting up a rifle with a trip wire that points directly to the bad guy's heart giving him the option to end the torture by pulling on the line.

The bad guy won't pull the wire regardless of the torture and eventually Walt Jr stumbles upon the scene and has no clue why this guy is tied up and tries to offer him help. The bad guy figures out it is Walt's kid and pulls the kid in front of him and pulls the wire killing them both.

I just found out that Warren Buffett is a monster fan and got Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston to reprise their characters in the RV to do a parody video for the Berkshire Hathaway annual shareholders' meeting. Instead of meth they are making peanut brittle and Buffett is Heisenberg-like (with the hat) wanting to join forces (Buffett own's See's Candies).

It wasn't an alternate ending. It was in the first season, Vince Gilligan thought of killing Jesse at the end of that to give Walt a motivation in the second season. He claims after watching Aaron Paul play Jesse after the first couple of episodes, he scrapped the idea and realizes in hindsight that offing Jesse would have been a horrible idea.

ahhh, gotcha. thanks.

all the same it doesn't look like things end well for jesse after it's all played out does it?.

he's more broken than ever and skyler will have to rat him out if there's any hope for a happily ever after for the family walt worked so hard to provide for. he's actually the one loose end in the whole story and at the same time the ultimate victim.

Gilligan claims Jesse gets away clean without any legal issues. His connection to Walt was through Hank and Steve Gomez in an off-the-book investigation so law enforcement isn't aware of the connection. They are both dead, so Jesse isn't implicated.

I don't think Skylar would blame him for this mess, as she probably realizes that he was Walt's pawn and Jesse is definitely aware of Skylar's involvement and complicity, so it would be mutually assured destruction and she would lose her baby. Marie knows that Jesse was helping Hank to nail Walt, so I don't think she would rat him out.

Now mentally, he is completely fucked and may never recover.

I still can't cope with the Breaking Bad ending. I'm so sad it's over, relieved in a way, but sad. An awesome ending, I think.

I want to watch it all over again, but I seriously need a few years to simmer down and get over it.

The ending ranked up with the Shield and Six Feet Under.

I liked the Junior character. They didn't go full retard with him. He was a kid and all the sturm and drang that comes with teenage kids. My best friend in high school had fucked up legs. My mom was always asking me what was wrong with him. I honestly never knew...and don't know to this day...altho I have to admit watching him move around these days (after not seeing him for 25 years) really makes my heart hurt. His legs never came up in our conversations. If he hit the pavement I didn't help him up...learned my lesson the first time. He was just a dude...drunk, stoned, surly, pussy crazed, swearing like a sailor, no hesitation to pull a gun on someone. Junior was more real a portrayal of a crippled kid than I've ever seen. I go to Jeri from Facts of Life and the heavy handedness of the writers constantly reminding us she was "normal". Junior didn't need to remind us...just his being made him normal. Again, the beauty of the show. The first couple of eps this half season Jesse barely spoke, but he was a massive presence just by being.

Great show, great cast, great writing, great filming. Perfect storm.

I've always said that the show was the best engineered show I have ever seen, and I mean that as a very high compliment. Just like a very high-end luxury car. Most Hollywood types bitch about being given cost or content restrictions by the people actually writing the checks. They won't risk their own money on their 'vision' but get really snippy when the people funding the venture want to have their say.

Vince Gilligan says restrictions and limitations helped form his story. When they did the "Crystal Blue Persuasion" montage with Walt, Todd and Lydia. The fact that Walt and Lydia kept meeting at the same restaurant for the payoff was strictly because of budgetary concerns and he originally would have liked them to have met in a variety of locations, but couldn't strictly because of the budget. The fact that they met in the same location every time was explained as Lydia being a creature of habit and made it very credible for Walt to anticipate Lydia and poison her.

I would love to meet Vince and talk his ear off for about three hours.

The Wire is a bit of a grind and for you mr floofin jumping in that direction right now probably isn't going to yield satisfactory results. it takes a few seasons for the wire to get going but there's some decent characters.

the walking dead is good if you're into the zombie thing. plus the blue meth lives on...

ray donovan is pretty solid too.

I'll be dipped that nod to the blue meth is awesome. I just finished season 4 of Breaking Bad. When Gus walked out of the nursing home room after the explosion I about shit until I saw half his head was gone and he collapsed dead. Then it was revealed Walt started the whole thing in motion with an almost Rube Goldberg device of a manipulation with the poison berries I had to let out a loud "HA!" I can't believe I waited so fucking long to watch this show.
Now if I could just get into S.O.A that much.....

I didn't realize until after the fact that that episode's title was "Face Off". I mean, har har, Gilligan's sense of humor is simply diabolical.

Thanks for the warning, it's def slow going at this point. I've got a list of shit I'm supposed to watch . . .

*The Wire
*Dexter
*Walking Dead
*Homeland

All the while, I spend my time watching fucking "Castle" re-runs. I mean seriously, what a crap show, but Nate Fillion is awesome and Stana Katic is wicked hot.

Remind me to add that to the "Non porn girls I wanna fuck" thread.

theres no shame in the castle reruns. i was hooked on the burn notice series for a brief minute so fair enough.

i'd put homeland at the top of the list. then walking dead and boardwalk empire. after breaking bad those are the only other series you can realistically step to.

dexter is really fucken good for the first 2 seasons. then shit gets *keystone cops. after that it's progressively hit or miss until the series finale and i'll withhold comment on "the end" for now.

Give me your synopsis/review of Homeland Lou. I haven't seen a single episode.

SVU episode. Columbian Whore with bar code tattooed on her neck gets in a car accident w/ trick and driver. Another whore w/ bar code tat picks her up from hospital. Then they find a body of a hooker w/ bar code. Episode name is Exceptible Loss.

I still see that hot lil coffee shop broad w/ a bar code tat. How would one approach her? Ask if her debt is paid and she can date? Ask if I can shoot the code with my phone and see her rates?

start there... i'm not doing a multi season catch-up but if you get into it and want to share here i'll happily tell you how you're wrong and what you missed...until kingfish shows up and kicks some truth anyways. smirk

related...amc has the walking dead going all week if anyone wants to jump in.

Thanks Lou. I may start that one. Can't wait for Sunday and The Dead to walk again.
