I've heard this "excuse/reason" a lot. I'm guessing it's just different for everyone but I've never had an issue in the civilian work place even when getting recognized. If anything, you just have to work harder for your money and it may get old for some people after a while when you look back and realize how much you made in a shorter period of time. Whether you call that laziness or something else. Personally, it's not worth the risk the way things have been going for a while. And it's definitely not forever.
