The NCAA has gotten away with this chicanery for too long, so they've practically tripped on their own dicks by trying to hammer Manziel.

It seems to me that while the NCAA is a huge organization with inertia in its favor, there may be a time coming soon when the whole thing gets blown apart. Div 1 football should jettison the NCAA and become a pro league, basically, its past due.

Didn't some AD just say that? Something like dude griping about letting schools get to 1-A status and that the 3-4 top conferences should break off.

Oh, I think that is what it was. Some AD was complaining about a for profit college being admitted to 1-A sports.

No doubt there are some huge issues, and more than likely it's just gonna amount to grumbling and sword rattling on the part of the big Div 1 football schools. Then again there's soooooo much money made by Div 1 football, there's no telling where it might end. You can hire alot of lawyers with all the scrill those schools have got, y'know?



Yeah, that was here in Arizona, when ASU's president didn't want upstart Grand Canyon University (also in the Phoenix metro area) to be able to play in Div 1 (Basketball). Absolutely a territorial pissing, basically, ASU doesn't want the competition in their back yard. The ridiculous thing was ASU attempting to justify it on any grounds other than the money they'll lose as a result of that competition.
