I had the same reaction as FBF. That was my first thought, who are these D'bags and what Everclear record do we blame for this crap? I also have to admit I was impressed when he pulled out Amon Duul the other day. I haven't thought of them since 10th grade, sitting in my bedroom trading records with my neighbor who went on to be the drummer in Jesus Lizard. He would play me Gong and Amon Duul and Can and I would play him Traffic, Zappa and Ponty.

And that right there is the crux of this conversation: Do stoner kids in the suburbs still get deep into obscure music? Yes. As much as we all crow like old men about music these days and these damn kids, there are still "left of the dial" records coming out that we don't get exposed to.

For every Beatles there was a Herman's Hermits. Every Nirvana had it's Everclear. The autotune-slip and dubstep and all the recent trends will soon sound as dated as gated snares and detuned schecters.
