Luck was another HBO show i wanted to see go longer. They got rolled by sleazy horse people. I think 2 horses had injuries on the track and had to get put down, so they canceled rather than deal with the backlash.

No trainer was putting a worthwhile horse in a fugazi race. Show probably covered insurance, so they doped up horses that were injured and shot, then blew em up on the track.
