honestly, it's not about the scene. personally i felt the scene was shit and wouldnt put it out myself. the girl gave a shitty performance, i gave a shitty performance.. i wont argue that. I have given very few bad performances and will cop to any, especially any that have sucked that bad. maybe this should not have been said the way it was publically, it was me ranting off of quite a while of build up.

The scene was not even the center of that, in fact it was a minor event that affected my opinion very little. I will be the first to say it was shitty. I spoke with Jimmy D about it afterword and we had a long talk about everything wrong with that. maybe part of what changed my opinion was that you basically blew Jimmy off like an old coot who could impart no kowledge to you that would be worth learning. That is a man that was making what you call alt. porn when you were in Jr. High, not to mention a man i consider to be a friend.

Maybe it was the stuff with Kei, the fact that you once said you didnt like Brooklyn because she only came to you when she wanted money, but then you only call Kei when you want someone to promote you which she did, above and beyond, until she realized that was the ONLY reason you ever called again. But, thats her grievence... and while i share it it doesnt center my own.

You see to me, its a matter of being really what you claim in your image. Mind you its not just you, its a disease that has plauged the goth scene and the punk scene for years and just has become worse lately. the fashion goth, punk, whatever. The fact that its become a fashionable trend now with bands like My Chemical Romance, Good Charlotte and countless bands i cant name cause, well i dont listen to em. The trendy psudeo-subculture for those who pay attention to fashion magazines and Rolling Stone (or any other bullshit like that). Maybe it shouldn't be an issue to me, but well it is. The whole Emo thing, i remember when it first started back in high school. Emo kids were the kids that the Goth kids chased out as poseurs, the punk kids beat up, and essentially were the trendy fashion victims that were a watered down pop version . The Emo thing still continues and now enjoys its rightful place with the rest of the diseases of music right up on MTV. Unfortunately the Hot Topic trend has started trying to pass itself off as authentic. And to be honest thats where i place your stuff Eon. Its fashion victim chic.

Your obsession with "Street Cred" is probably the part that made me finally come to feel this way. I heard this phrase spouted so many times from you it made me sick. "I wont shoot in the valley cause shooting in L.A. gives me street cred", "I want to show the kids i have street cred". Street cred means SHIT to someone who is REAL. only poseurs worry about Street Cred. "i dont want fake boobs in my movie cause i want Street Cred" yet Blue Blood who have been doing Alt Porn since you were listening to boys II men, have no problem using fake tits in their photos... but thats a drama for another time. But, for someone SOOOOO punk, and with SOOOOOOO much street cred... you wont even show your face. you hide behind a drawing and wont let people take your picture. You say publically it's because you want a mystery, but the reality is you are afraid of people finding out its you who is Eon McKai. You are afraid it could hurt your mainstream work, afraid it could hurt your mainstream relationships. Thats cool, but it sure as hell ain't punk, and it sure as hell destroys any credibilty street or otherwise. Everyone knows who i am, i am not afraid to show my face to the world. Yes, Art School is MY Movie, even though I got gypped $700 and only got a postage stamp sized pic on the cover, it's my movie. Even though I had to beg to wear black in the film and nearly stabbed you for the over use of the word EMO (which technically isn't a word) I had fun shooting it, even though the basement was flooded and the classroom was 160* and it was 45 min away from home, I had fun. I worked with Felix (who is SO Goth, lemme tell you) and Talon (again gothyer than thou, smell the sarcasm). I wore converse and powder blue and a little lolita dress while my best Goth dress was loaned to Katja for her scene with Kyle, and my boots were left lying on the dressing room floor. I was the Cheerleader for the new direction in porn. I was kinda hoping that with introducing you to the community I know and love it would re invent me and maybe there'd be a beautiful friendship to follow. Art School was shot last June 23. It came out November 15 of 2004. All three times you've called me this year, excuse me, had Malachi call me, was so I could promote you. To be on your red carpet, to talk to the press on your behalf. let me set the record straight on something: i didn't feel "dissed" on that set. in fact, i couldn't feel "dissed" on that set cuz that would require me to actually give a fuck if anyone actually made some lame attempt to "diss" me. and if i did--give a fuck that is--i would probly have been motivated to become truly an obnoxious and distracting, out-of-line, geezer cuz that's how i can be sometimes.

i will say i was mildly amused on that set. it's always amusing to me when people take the making of their porn so artistically and self-inflatingly serious, and when they're acting like they're breaking new ground and doing things no one's done before even tho it was done--by myself and more than a few others--years ago. it was like an alt.porn sitcom with no one on that crew truly having a clue what they were doing. i'm guessing the production budget of that movie being in the ten grand or less range cuz i sure didn't see much being spent on... well, on much of anything. either that or someone did some serious pocket-stuffing.

but what do i know? i've only shot upwards of 3000 scenes, directed a few hundred flicks and edited that number or more other flicks shot by other guys.

you guys might remember i was only there because i had to deliver the girl to this piece-of-shit little rat-n-roach infested warehouse space in the "la bomba" district of down-town LA so she could work on a $3 set that could have been contstructed in a corner of anyone's garage in the valley. and because it was in downtown, i had to hang out and wait for the girl. a rather long wait, i might add. i even left and came back and, altho i was gone a few hours, it seemed like nothing much in the way of progress had taken place. i suppose cuz true "art" was being made.

but such is the way of porn sets where little or no experience is in evidence... crew-wise, that is.
