Molluscum is a generally benign virus infection of the skin that resolves itself within a few months, and is not necessarily a sexually-transmitted disease. Most molluscum infections are spread by auto-inoculation — i.e., scratching. Yes, it looks gross and could be irritating, but it's not such a big deal.
