Diary of the Dead - it was as bad as people said it was supposed to be. I can't believe George Romero kept his name on this crap. I'd be fighting in court trying to keep my name from appearing in it.What was he thinking?

I wasn't putting the movie down. It was awesome... just super cheesy and particularly the beginning with the young version of Frank Dux. It made for some good laughs, though.
I know of the sequals. Wasn't Jean-Claude killed in one of the sequals... in the first few minutes? Didn't that guy who played Cody on the show Step by Step take over for him? Or... was that a different martial-arts film franchise.

The African Queen. I love the scene where Hepburn/Rosey pours out Bogey's/Charlie's alcohol. The way he pathetically pleads for her to stop always cracks me up.

I was 9 years old when I saw it at the drive-in. I think the movie was lost for years, and then finally restored and put to DVD in 2004. The picture quality is good.
It's not as brutal as some of the movies that are out now, but it was gory for it's time. People with weaker stomachs would still have trouble watching it today.

Burn After Reading was by far my favorite movie of the year...I've read some bad reviews and all of the bad reviews say that Brad Pitt was the best part---bullshit! He was definitely the weakest part...Cohen Brothers are incredible...
Oh and An American Crime --disturbing...it's based on the nonfiction book The Basement...depressing!

I plan to check that out. I've already seen The Girl Next Door, which was based on that crime. Some things were changed from the real life story, but for the most part, it told the story.

Pluses: props to Black Flag and Minor Threat; using a U.S. map graphic to demonstrate that a network of support existed, and each city (worth its while) had a flag-bearer (e.g. Portland = Poison Idea).
Minuses: 95% of hardcore sucked; no Dead Kennedys (fucking give Jello a mic, and half of your movie is made), no Husker Du, no Minutemen.
Interesting theory/sound bite: Reagan's first term birthed hardcore; Reagan's second term killed it.

It was a little uneven in pacing and feel, but it was definitely a 4 out of 5 stars.
