No, it requires you to be tall. That's it. If you grow to over 6'5" and have enough coordination to walk (plus managing to get through your teens without being convicted of robbing/raping/murdering someone), you'll make the NBA.

When the highest level of the sport is made up mostly of the dumbest people of our society, it's hard to take the "sport" seriously.
