I went to see the Nets live 2x during the Jason Kidd era, a preseason game against the Celtics, and a reg. season game against the then new Charlotte Bobcats. You know what everybody says about hockey, how TV camera locked in on the puck doesn't do the game justice? Same thing w/ basketball. You see it live and you see all the plays developing, instead of a dude standing there, dribbling, waiting for opportunity.
And the sheer size of the guys is lost because they are ALL so tall.
My brother used to get courtside seats from his company for the Big East tourney. Wow was that exciting.
I've never been that close at an NBA game. Behind the basket in the first level of seats was the closest.
