I'm thinking of starting a Kick-starter Project for Gia's food budget. Say 120 a month for a year would be 1440 lets make it 1800 to be generous.

I get most of my produce in bulk from co-ops. The rest, Trader Joe which is cheaper than Whole Foods and in most cases, the same price or lower than a regular grocery store. But co-op is the cheapest way for mass quantity, and if your city has a farmers market, many of their vendors will let you buy in bulk.

Whole Foods is good for their bulk section of grains and pastas. Over-priced for produce. Fine for certain condiments not found elsewhere and there house brand is decently priced.

With planning, eating healthy can definitely be done on a budget.

*dont get me started on healthy on a budget in nyc. That takes strategizing and time.

Here in LA, I love me some Co-op in Santa Monica.

So its more fantasy than reality that when you say your caloric austerity is due to a budgetary concern? God help you for being ethnic with no cheekbones....

I don't know how I feel about turkey marinara.

Both from the idea of using turkey. And, meat in a "marinara" sauce.

The whole idea that "mariners" using the sauce was so there was no meat to rot. At least that was the myth of the origin of Marinara I've heard.

I don't know the pasta nomenclature. Sounds fine to me. All I know is I added meat this time and prefer turkey instead of red meat.

my best period of (chosen) dietary control was a couple of years back, and for a good 6 months it looked like:

1. 2 hard boiled eggs + 1 avocado
2. aka miso soup + grilled salmon
3. boiled vegetables (corn, peas, potato, carrots)

this was enabled by the fact that I'd just been forced into moving back to livign with my mum and working in a factory. the month of jail time that preceded this was also pretty interesting. but alas..

I think you mean, Gia. This is her food diary. I haven't posted my days consumption but was suggesting a dressing with anchovies.

I am starting to class "margarita pizza" as a Gia staple.

I don't expect too much info, but I'd like to hear what country the time was served in.

I think Gia is fasting in support of Boston today.

That's entirely understandable. I think she once stripped and did privates there. I hope none of her former clients were injured by the bombs.

Pretty much ate the same thing for all missing days: salad, a banana, figs, and whole wheat pasta with marinara. On a budget and making food at home on the cheap with my limited cooking skills.

Salad's a pretty broad term these days. I imagine we're talking basic greens, not the 17,000 calorie taco salad that I like to make sometimes when I'm wanting to eat healthy.

Romaine mixed with spinach or kale. Any veggie. No cheese, no croutons, no nuts. Any dressing 40 cals or less. But mostly, I don't like dressing. Load that salad up with veggies! And maybe some salmon or grilled chicken.

I feel bad for the Gia's Mope. In all this food diary, I haven't seen Jizz listed. Poor guy.
