also on the topic of the ps4.its only going to have 8gb,so wtf happens when you run out of room?is there going to be an add on hard drive available.are games only going to be streamable?not having physical copies of games would be gay.
Frankie, it is not nice to use the word gay like that. Please use tritone instead. Where are you seeing it's only going to have 8GB for storage? It will have 8GB of RAM, and also a HDD.

The new Tomb Raider is goddamn amazing. I really can't say anything bad about the game. Normally I would complain about the lack of difficulty, but I'm having too much fun to care. This game is everything Uncharted should have been. While playing Uncharted, everytime fifty enemies entered the screen, I would roll my eyes, sigh, and struggle through it. Not the same with Tomb Raider. A swarm of enemies makes me giggle with glee, grab my Bow, put some arrows through faces, then charge in with one of the most satisfying shotguns in gaming history and just start blowing motherfuckers to bits. And don't even get me started on the set-piece moments, which make me feel like I'm in control of one hell of a suspenseful action flick. I'm almost hesitant to play it, simply because I don't want it to end. Kudos to Crystal Dynamics for bringing the fun back into gaming.
That reads promising and should be worth checking out.
As already mentioned, Crysis 3 is hardware meth. On the hardest difficulty, there's actually some fun to be had and the AI and level design seem to work better together than in the three previous titles of the series. With everything dialed up to deluxe and the best anti-aliasing available for Nvidia cards - the game seems to be optimised for AMD cards, judging by the trailer when starting the thing - there simply is nothing better in gaming in terms of graphical detail and post processing opulence. Actually impressive and utilising plenty of hardware generally underused in most other games.
because theyre fun.werent you the one stockpiling old games not that long ago?

I'm not sure if you'll dig it as much, Pipe. You seem to be more elitist and into a challenge. Tomb Raider is not challenging in the least (maybe on hard difficulty, but the normal difficulty setting has been gravy to me so far), but goddamn is it fun. I do enjoy a challenge, but not if it sucks out the fun. Super Meat Boy is a good example of a game that was excruciatingly challenging, while still being fun. Tomb Raider controls like a dream and just has a very satisfying flow to it. I'm going to be sad when it's all over.
Here's a little bit of what I'm talking about with the set-pieces:
fartler, I don't mind playing a game for the interactive film-like experience Call Of Duty offers and generally set those titles to medium difficulty or one level above.
There's a difference for me between the damage of enemies increasing and the game to be more challenging in a way which is more interesting to play, not just unfairly and boringly adjusted.
Crysis I played some on, well, ridiculously slow hardware compared to hefty console proportions without the corporate parenting to throw at the thing now. It's high-end software porn.
There was some interest in competitive multiplayer shooters a while ago and most AIs don't give you anything to work against once you were able to fuck around with a more cognitive enemy a bit.
It's nice to do the stealthy thing as a convenience and just pass enemies while cloaked while enjoying the urban jungle setting I only saw so far. The other stuff, full-on, can be tricky with multiple attackers.
They clearly polished everything quite nicely and after patch 1.2 on the PC, it seems to run moderately better on at least one type of Nvidia card. Good shit. Budget millions everywhere. And entertaining, so no complaints here.
Tomb Raider looks interesting and since I'll probably never play any Uncharted game due to lack of hardware, the comparison or it allegedly being better should make for a good time. It wasn't exactly missed.
It blows Uncharted out of the water in every facet besides writing. You won't regret it, brother. Just be wary, there's some malfunction going on with some Nvidia thing or another. I'd look into it if I were you.
Nice, then this probably will run better once I'm done with the urban jungle thing.
The screenshots I saw looked promising. All screenshots used as advertising material look promising, but maybe this one wasn't produced to never exceed 720p and can be dialed up and filtered for some proper visuals.
just wait till theyve been out for a little bit and get them off amazon then.

Gears Of War Judgment was kind of a rip. There's hardly any improvements and/or innovations outside of a few new weapons. It's basically just more Gears, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but the length combined with the sameness hardly justifies the $60.00 price tag. The campaign lasted about five hours, making it feel more like a Gears 3 DLC pack than a full-fledged title. The kid likes it though, so if he's happy, I'm happy.
Bioshock Infinite is pretty slick so far. I need to get into it a bit more before I decide if the stellar reviews are correct. I like how Ken Levine puts a shiny gloss over simple concepts to make them seem new and revolutionary. Like the chick you escort in the game, Elizabeth, can "take care of herself" in combat which basically means "bullets go right through her".
Jim Sterling is the reviews editor at Destructoid.com and likes to generally make fun of David Cage, another fantasctic loon in the video game industry and probably the second most crazy one after Peter Molyneux.
He did a whole episode of his Jimquisition where he channels the guy and goes on and on about polygons being emotion and more.
If anyone happens to play Crysis 3 on an Nvidia GTX SLI system, there should be a noticeable performance increase after the recent driver update about a week ago. Higher FPS rendered overall, I guess. Nice and unexpected.
panzer youre a sick demented fuck.i hope youre not playing stuff like that.

Maybe someone should make the game like Dungeon Manager/Tycoon, where you have to get victims and them churn them up for profit so you can buy more/better gear and equipment.
maybe someone should put you in a dungeon and have trannies give themselves enemas and shit on your face.

Any of you guys play Strategy games like Crusader kings or the total war series? I have been looking into these lately an was wondering about your opinions of these types of games, like what your favorite one is.

Finished Bioshock Infinite. Great game. I can see where all of the extremely favorable reviews come from, as it tells an amazing story that has a level of interest and quality to it that the gaming world hasn't seen in a long time. I'd say the best story told before would have to be 2007's Bioshock, which was also written by Ken Levine. About halfway through the game though, I had sort of an unexpected revelation:
I'm fucking tired of blowing the shit out of people in every game I play.
Seriously. It's not really an issue of morality, as much as an issue of repetativeness. Every single game I play involves brutally slaughtering endless roomfuls of people, as I advance a story. It's just getting old.
I picked up Ni No Kuni: Wrath Of The White Witch to combat this burnt-out feeling. A long, drawn out, Japanese RPG by Level 5 and Studio Ghibli (Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away). It's like playing a goddamn cartoon and I'm loving it. No shotguns and assault rifles. No blood spurting. No hiding behind cover to wait for victims to come out. Just lighthearted questing and storytelling.

Any X Box 360 folks had problems with the USB ports not recognizing a flash drive? I ran like 4 or 5 of them last nite, but the only drive it sees is the one that's configured to hold saved games.
