That was the irritating thing about leftard admiration for Chavez: there was no shortage of successful leftist social democrats in Latin America to choose from doing "good" work. I don't tilt left, but I could understand why someone would want to model a country after Sweden, and I suppose a case could be made for Latin American countries that aren't Venezuela.

"Democracy" is more bullshit that has always been controlled by the grease of a palm, it means absolutely nothing. I know you can't just admit america is circling the drain.
