Odd you mention that. I just finished reading Chas Norman's The Case of Ezra Pound, another anti-Semite that gave aid and comfort to the enemy (though taking money from a state under sanctions isn't quite the same thing) that used the insanity defense. Pound was locked up in a mental ward for almost two decades. Like Bobby, he had no desire to stay in the United States and probably could have gotten off much easier if he did.
