Ron Jeremy is in critical condition at an L.A. hospital ... and is being treated for an aneurysm that was located near his heart ... TMZ has learned.
Ron's manager, Mike Esterman, tells TMZ ... 59-year-old Ron drove himself to Cedars-Sinai hospital Tuesday afternoon after experiencing severe chest pain. Docs examined the legendary porn star ... and discovered the aneurysm.
According to Esterman, Ron's condition has worsened and he was transferred to the ICU. He's currently being prepped for surgery.
Ron -- and his 9-inch penis -- have appeared in more than 2,000 X-rated movies together ... including, "Super Hornio Brothers," "High Heels, Low Standards," and "A Christmas Orgy."

This hospital stay is probably the biggest expense the Hedgehog has ever had in his life. I wonder which promoter/strip club/adult book store owner he will put the bite on to pay for it. I can't imagine him putting up real money for health insurance, so this has to be an out-of-pocket odyssey.
EDIT: Ron probably has had his main stream director buddies put him in enough no budget SAG signatory films for him to get SAG health and pension benefits.

I'd go w/ KingFish and guess he gets enough SAG work to get insurance. I think it is 3 credits a year. Or maybe 3 credits to maintain membership, I forget. I do know the shuttering of all them Law & Order spin offs sent many a NYC "actor" scrambling for coverage.

It's Occam's Razor, what scenario is the most obvious one: Ron paying rapidly increasing health insurance premiums out of his own pocket as he ages, or Ron badgering his film buddies to do him a solid by getting him enough SAG work each year to make sure he is covered by the SAG Health plan.
Just think in about five years, he will be covered by Medicare Advantage.
