There are definitely plenty of other worthy destinations. The Dominican Republic is getting it's shit together and quickly. Money is pouring into that country and they are getting a handle on security and promotion. The sooner they absorb Haiti the better as Haiti is really holding that island down.

In my opinion the DR is a "buy" right now, if you can afford it. When Cuba opens it will be pre-sold. That's not to say I won't go but I won't look to make any money there unless it's through my career- not as an investment. The Castro Regime will rape it one last time as they take it private.
