Oh, don't get me wrong. It's long past time to dump the embargo. It's propped up Castro for 50 years. It may not matter what anyone in Florida thinks. Every time we start leaning toward normalization the Castros do something to fuck it up. The people who are in power are looking at being put up against a wall after the transition. They have much reasons to maintain the status quo. But who knows? The Beard up and dies, you might be looking at a reverse Muriel situation. Combine that with folks taking to the streets to meet their long lost family, it's possible the security apparatus could be in over their heads. Blood in streets, maybe, or the troops could join in the fun. I doubt it'll look like Damascus, but you just don't know.
