even though it's not really an album but an EP...and it's not really an EP but a collection of 3 7" records.
I don't give 2 fucks about anyone's opinion on "the masters" like napalm death, seige, repulsion, carcass, sore throat, brutal truth being better/more historically important/.....and as far as newer bands (with in the last 17 years ) like Excruciating Terror, Anal Cunt, Insect Warfare, Rotten Sound, Retaliation, Assuck or who ever....I don't care how obscure or well known...some may come close but this stands alone

What do you think of Pig Destoyer, Dropdead and Nasum? Not saying they're greater, just curious. I remember that Flesh Parade album but never listened to it, will have to dig it up now. Isn't pretty much every grindcore 'album' really an ep?

Prowler In The Yard is a master piece. Their albums got progressively worse after that. I don't even really consider Prowler a "grindcore" record. The riffing is more thrash if anything I love how stressed out and desperate JR sounds on that record.
I thought Nasum was great, but I'd say they peeked with Inhale/Exhale and Human 2.0
Dropdead are descent, not a band I really dug into much at all, they don't really stand out to me as anything that particular grabs me to make them standout from other fast hardcore bands with a guy screaming...I'd much rather listen to something like (older) Phobia or Hellnation
Others I'd add to the list of awesome are Excruciating Terror, Anal Cunt (duh) Discordance Axis, Deep Fried Embryo, Excreted Alive, Whortornm, Noisear,PxAxMx and a hundred others I'm forgetting right now.
"Kill Whitey" has everything distilled down into a cingular feral intensity however.
Claude I assume you might be from the east coast as you mentioned Dropdead (not to assume they are only known in the east)
You probably already know about Watchmaker, if not I think they'd be up your alley, really stressed out/pissed/hateful sounding, disjointed mix of blackmetal, grind and hardcore. I don't think they've been active for while, this album came out in 1999

Wold are good, they're Canadian black noise.
Dig the Watchmaker thanks FBF, listened to Kill Whitey and liked it as well. I usually like the more non-doctrinaire grindcore, stuff that probably isn't 'pure' grindcore, like Prowler, Pig Destroyer seemed to have a bit more structure to what they do and Siege are my favourite of the original bands, agree about the diminishing returns but I find that par for the course with the genre, usually the bands make one major statement and either repeat themselves or just decline.

I'm not really that versed on Dino Jr. I love watching videos of interviews with Mascis, he seems to barely have enough energy to expel air from his lungs while talking.

Plus he drummed in Deep Wound. It's fun to play 6 degrees of separation with east coast bands as there's actually very little space between the Lemon Heads/Juliana Hatfield and more scuzzy acts like Jerry's Kids, Gang Green, Killslug and he like. My favorite story reading about was Larry Lifeless almost decapitating Evan Dando with the scythe he used to carry around.

Wasn't a member of the Go-Gos in the Germs at one point?

hahaha, I just looked that up, wikipedia claims Belindia Carlisle was one of their drummers.....Courtney Love was in Faith No More for a short time
I like how Max Ward (spazz, capitalist casualties, what happens next) denies ever being in the Meat Shits even though his name and picture are on one of their demos.

That's right, Belinda, it's true, I remember reading about it in We've Got the Neutron Bomb, I think Darby and Pat Smear and Belinda all met while trying to groupie fuck Freddy Mercury.

Back on the topic of kick ass music, I recently had the unsettling pleasure of attending a concert by "The Chariot". These dudes are balls to the wall, I mean one guitarist was into the pit 5 seconds into the show and it didn't seem to be a problem.
Anybody know how to post video without having to go through their youtube account?

Here you go, don't need to be logged in to your youtube account to post a vid, but posting vids here is absurdly convoluted. Another thing Steve will never get around to fixing.
