Poor Emo Dog.

He wore a raw spot on his side where he was shaved for surgery. It was healing well, but I noticed a pea sized indentation last Wednesday and made a vet appointment, for yesterday. Well, in those six days it opened up about the size of a quarter. So, today the vet did surgery. She removed some tissue that will be tested, explored, and sewed him up with a drainage tube. While she was exploring, she felt something sharp. Turns out he has three broken ribs!

I want a healthy dog back. Poor thing is resting quietly now, those ribs must hurt, but you could never tell it from him. No idea how it happened.

Antibiotics and tramadol, and rest. I hope he is good as new in a couple months. I'm glad I decided to stay in Dayton this winter.
