Elexis Monroe “Benefit” DVD in Question UPDATE- So the talent donated half of their earnings and GFF matched that making another donation? I’m still not exactly sure what the deal was here…
NL-This was posted on the Forum of Girlfriends Films concerning a movie made to benefit Elexis Monroe. My understanding is the talent who performed in the movie were paid half their usual rate and Elexis received the other half of their pay. So the talent is who really made the donation, not the movie company.
Well, Sinn Sage finally broke the information yesterday evening on twitter. For those who don’t follow her, this is what she said.

So now we know, Elexis will get none of the proceeds from the sale of the "benefit" DVD.
The only question I have for GFF is this – why did they think this cynical manipulation of a woman who is the face of their company, someone who was literally fighting for her life, the models who supported her and of her fans, wouldn’t get out?

Much as I like Sinn Sage, she really does have this wrong—though in fairness, it may not have been explained to her as it was stated in the GFF press release posted January 3, which can be found here:

Basically, it says that half of each performer’s salary was to be donated to Elexis’ “health fund,” and that GFF would match that total amount in a separate donation, plus Elexis got December’s $1,000 monthly GFF charitable donation. Nothing was said about her receiving any proceeds from the movie itself. That said, I hope people will continue to donate to Elexis, since as everyone knows, operations are incredibly expensive, and those without health insurance (like Elexis) can really get screwed. Wonder if Obamacare could be any help?

girlfriends films MATCHED every donation dollar for dollar including the half of their rate that performers donated, they gave elexis over 10K in December when she needed it.
Why is it these porn chicks who spend their money on anything but health insurance think its everyone elses responsibility to bail them out when they are irresponsible?

I am pretty sure Dan and Moose have put their money where their mouths and PR is and will continue to do so. They are very upstanding guys in my opinion and I doubt they would ever mislead the public for corporate gain especially at the expense of someone in need.

Girlfriend Films Responds about Elexis Benefit DVD NL- According to GFF’s they gave Elexis over $10,000 toward her expenses. I think that is quite extraordinary.
Here’s GFF’s reply on the forum
As soon as we heard about the severity of Elexis’ health situation we wasted no time in figuring a way how everybody could get involved in helping her out. However, there have been some recent Tweets regarding the benefit movie that we did in order to help her with her personal and medical expenses.
To hear today, via social networking, that some people feel like we haven’t held up our end of the deal, feels like a low blow, and a much undeserved one at that. It leaves me sad and frustrated that after all of our efforts and contributions, our charity donation and benefit wasn’t what some had in mind.
I have combed through all of our press releases and the media coverage eliciting support for Elexis, and I don’t see where the proceeds or profits from the movie sales were included in the drive. I left the recruitment of the performers to Elexis, so it’s difficult to figure how Girlfriends Films could have misrepresented the mission to them.
In truth, we put in a ton of man hours to organize the charity and the promotion surrounding it. If I had to quantify the labor it would exceed $10,000 on its own. Additionally, we gave Elexis our $1000 December charity donation, plus we matched all of the performers’ donations and provided them a scene in which to have funds to donate. When one of the performers in the movie cancelled at the last moment, Girlfriends Films paid her replacement her full fee and covered what would have been her part of the donation ourselves. We also solicited support from Elexis fans and friends, and provided an address and handling of these funds. Our direct monetary support exceeded $10,000.
With the dwindling DVD market, our combined contributions of over $20,000 cut in to any profit on the DVD we may have experienced.
Nobody else stepped forward like we did. And now to be the subject of a public bashing…well, it’s very painful and disappointing. We always try to promote the best public image when it comes to our company, our performers, and the industry at large. Each step forward takes work, planning, energy and, most often, money. Giving us an undeserved public bashing on social network is like suddenly getting sent back ten steps.
Anyway, our continued wishes to Elexis for a speedy recovery.

Sounds to me that GFF are covering their asses & Elexis is getting screwed over big time. Looks like the actresses who contributed their time & fees were duped by Mr. O’Connell. Very disheartening !

Elexis Monroe Recieves Over 10K As A Result of Girlfriends Films Fundraiser So Why Is She Bitter By MikeSouth

In November 2012, Elexis Monroe was rushed to the hospital, suffering from severe infections in her face as a result of dental abscesses. Though an initial surgery initially prevented the infection from spreading, Monroe had to undergo additional surgeries.
[One should note here that dental issues like that don't just happen overnight, she clearly neglected getting this fixed for whatever reason and wound up in this condition of her own doing.]
So Dan at Girlfriends Films decided to try to help her out. Each of the performers in Lesbian Sex: Volume 10 is donating half her earnings from the movie to help cover Monroe’s medical fees, an amount matched by Girlfriends Films. Additionally Girlfriend’s Films raised money for her medical expenses.
In total over $10,000.00 was raised by Girlfriends Films and presented to Elexis in December, when she needed it. There was never any deal to give proceeds of the movie to Elexis, the idea was that the movie would likely only break even if that. Now figure the movie hasn’t even been out for thirty days, so almost no money has even been made anyway, it typically takes 60 to 90 days before the receivables start coming in.
Out of the blue Elexis decides that Girlfriends Films should be sending her more money and starts a twitter rant that none of the proceeds from the movie were given to her.
First of all none of the proceeds were ever promised to her, Girlfriends Films set it up so that she would get the money in December, when she needed it, not in April or May when it would have come in. But most importantly Elexis got the money when she needed it, in December….over ten thousand dollars.
I am getting really tired of porn chicks feeling that when they spend their money on weed, Coach Purses, ex convict boyfriends (take your pick) instead of HEALTH INSURANCE that somehow obligates the industry to bail them out.
I had over a half million dollar surgery in 2007 and the industry didn’t raise a dime for me, I didn’t ask and didn’t want them to, I was my responsibility and mine was unforeseeable, hers was not. I maintain health insurance for myself but as you all know with a half million dollars in neurosurgery and rehab a lot of that came out of my pocket, insurance only pays 80%.
So stop being irresponsible and then declaring that someone who actually stepped up and helped you owes you more because you were irresponsible.

I agree with spending money on stupid shit and never thinking about tomorrow. But no health insurance policy covers dental and most dental policies truly suck.
