The SEC and the pundits took a big hit with Arkansas tonight. I love it. The Georgia game was a lot closer than the score indicates, too.

Mizzou got suckered by the Nike marketing department, just like Oregon. At least Oregon got Nike's best work. I saw that Mizzou got stuck with the letters "N-I" and "K-E" on the hands of the players' gloves. That's pretty distressing.

These new Nike uniforms are so modern and up-to-date, they'll look foolish in five years. It's almost as if Nike has brought planned obsolescence to college football uniforms.

I haven't been paying enough attention. The wizards at the shoe companies have figured out that printing images on the gloves will get purchasing departments all sprung. But check this out, the Texas A&M Aggies got a university logo on their gloves from Adidas, while Mizzou apparently sold Nike some advertising. At least I hope they did. Otherwise the University of Missouri athletic department got rolled by Nike worse than they got rolled by Quin Snyder.

Mizzous obliquing of their jersey and field yard marking numerals is so NASCAR. It's embarrassing to those of us in SECland. We want those tilted numbers on our racecars, not our field turf.
