I told the dyke in the barbershop story to a couple of people tonight and much like those old NFL 'you make the call' spots, I asked what would be correct decision. None of the people could resolve this. I would lean towards the dyke on this one. Fuck religious beliefs, don't run a business that violates the law.

"Ban" is a misleading term. I dunno if the CRTC said stations couldn't play it or if it was voluntary, but it was over the word 'faggot'. It's not like they can stop you from playing it.

Tatty's right, actually it was never the CRTC who said anything about that tune, it was the Canadian Broadcast Standards Council, which is the industry's own regulatory body that deals with complaints to try and avoid them ever showing up in front of the CRTC. The CRTC actually asked the CBSC to reconsider the decision.

The CBSC ruling only applies to their own members and has no force of law and so is pretty much voluntary, so as Tatty says 'ban' is inaccurate, typical shitty reporting by RS.

And let's not forget that the FCC heavily fined the networks because the likes of Bono and Cher said 'fuck' during live broadcasts. That shit has just been overturned by the Supreme Court (wtf?) but more on a technicality than freedom of speech grounds.

White guy with dreads is the worst look ever. There's this dude with that look at the coffee shop up here that I always go to and whenever he's working, it takes fucking forever to get my drink. He's always trying to chat up every girl in there or talking endlessly about his fucking band's next gig. On the other hand, white girls with dreads look cute and easy. Like someone you'd get high with and fool around all day.

Black dudes who can pull off the dreadlock look are lucky. If they ever develop a bald spot, they can just criss cross the dreads over it and tie shit up in knots to cover it up. I had a friend who used to do that.

All the white guys with dreds that I've ever known rode skateboards and worked as dish washers.
