Talked to some people on a doper forum this weekend about the weed legalization in Washington. Polling is running high 50s to low 60s percent for legalizing. It sounds like a pretty done deal. Hooray, I guess.

I wouldn't get your hopes up. The proper with marijuana legalization referendums is that all the people supporting them are too busy eating Cheetohs and watching The Cartoon Network to actually go out and vote.

There was an idea floating about a while back that Obama might decriminalize marijuana right before the election to try to bring out the youth vote. It's basically legal up here in Alaska as long as you're chilling at home.

My nephew and a few friends got so high in the garage the other day that one of them freaked out and they called 911. My sister let the cops in and then the EMT paramedics came and the cops actually checked the weed out and gave it the thumbs up:

I've known one serious pothead in my life (well, one that I know of, I'm sure there are a lot more that I don't). When sober he was a mathematics and engineering whiz, a complete brainiac. Do they still have practice voting in Brighton Beach? They used to set shit up just like voting booths so people would know what to do when they became citizens.

The 2 things most looked forward to things about becoming a citizen were voting and being able to go to the Motherland for an extended vacation, usually a month or 2. I'd see people's eyes light up talking about home and visiting with people they hadn't seen in 10 years.

Alex you do have to register in advance to vote. Just showing up doesn't work. Often when you get or renew or change the address on your picture ID there is a box to check to register to vote.
